The Yard is full of little Girl Squirrels

The yard this spring is full of little girl squirrels, young squirrels.  In fact I don't remember ever seeing this many little girl squirrels so close together on the Permafrost Ranch.  I'm starting to think that the lack of cone production in the area has forced them to shrink their ranges to areas of food.  I provide for many of them around the property.

Peanut Butter Mixture A Hit

News Flash

Bubba just told me he heard a news story.  Black Squirrels of Barrie Canada, were fed the mixture of Peanut butter and syrup, we use here on the Permafrost Ranch.  It was super hit he said.

It dropped way below freezing last night to 21 degrees and all the water was hard.  They sure appreciate me putting it out fresh water for them this time of the year.

Dinner Out Last Night

The daughter and family took this old squirrel out for a birthday gift last night.  A renown place located out in Fox Alaska, a well known establishment.  The food was fair.  The Prime Rib wasn't the best I've seen.  The place was packed to say the least.  Upon thinking about eating places, this old squirrel misses Club 11.  Nonetheless, thanks to the oldest daughter and son in law, along with the kids.  It was a good evening out.

Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center

All the politicians are gathering in Fairbanks today for the Morris Thompson Center Opening downtown. I was wondering if there is a squirrel size set of hip boots to wear if I attend. I'm sure it's going to get deep, and not from all this rain we just had either says this old squirrel.

Life in the Boreal Forest

This old squirrel was telling me that this summer has been very wet and cool and he can smell snow in the air. Early winter is coming according to the Fire Weed. It's bloomed all the way to the top already. We are both wishing for a long Indian Summer this fall. To make up for the summer that never quite made it to the Boreal Forest this year.
