Big Changes

Today will be our last full day here on the old Permafrost Ranch. One of the reasons why I haven't posted in a while. We have sold our place and are leaving Alaska, not for good but to become snow birds. We start our last great adventure on Wednesday driving out through Canada to my Aunts house in Texas. I'll still be posting, and the www.thesquirrelcam.com page will still be up and in place. You can follow our journey here and there as we look for nuts and squirrels all over America. Thanks to my followers of this blog. Look for more post soon.

It has been a winter of Redpolls here on the old Permafrost Ranch.  The feeders have been swarmed by them.  The speaker here in my squirrel hole is rocking all day long from their songs.  Having it up and running such does wonders for the spirit and soul.  You should stop by the streaming cam and have a listen for yourself.

Always looking out for Trouble

The little flyers who land on the feeder are always facing out, looking for trouble.  It's hard to get them to look towards the camera.  They know it's no threat compared to what is out there in the dark.

Bubba just told me he heard a news story.  Black Squirrels of Barrie Canada, were fed the mixture of Peanut butter and syrup, we use here on the Permafrost Ranch.  It was super hit he said.

Heat Wave

Heat WAVE -26 F

I awoke this morning to a warm wonder -26 Degrees F.  Now, some folks would think I've lost my mind, thinking it's a heat wave at -26 degrees, but old bubba agrees with me.  It's a heck of a lot better than waking up to a -46 degrees like we have been seeing.
