Canadian Jays(Camp Robbers)

The jays have been hitting the feeder bowls really hard. I'm going through about a bowl a day of molasses and peanut butter. The greedy little suckers. Not only them, but my Magpie buddy, who I haven't seen all summer has showed up at the feeders this early fall. Winter is coming, the leaves on the trees are changing colors and it's been in the low 30's already. I'm never ready for winter it seems.

Does DHS know you are harboring foreign birds in your back yard?

This summer seems way too short to me. I was up in Fairbanks in early May this year and the trees were just opening their leaves then... Here it is the first week in September and summer is ending. I am sure the fireweed is almost blooming at the tip... Last November at Thanksgiving I was in the Fairbanks area and it was 38 below zero Fahrenheit the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the morning..... That is 2 1/2 months away... time is going way too fast for me here too.... I must be getting long in the tooth. I was sailing off the Coast of California Saturday.... The weather will turn here too... I hate not being in Alaska in Summer.....
