Cold snap
The permafrost crop is blooming, with this latest cold snap we have had. Last night, the tempertures dropped down to a cool -48 degrees F. No matter how one looks at it, that is cold. Extreme cold and its suppose to fall in the same range tonight.
WOW! That is ten degrees colder than when I was there during the Thanksgiving week of last year. At 48 below I could have tried the trick that the Iñupiaq from Barrow told me about. He said that at that temperature you can boil water and run outside tossing the water in the air and 1/2 instantly evaporates and 1/2 falls to the ground as ice. Keep warm friend.
